Information

One of the sweetest and creamiest IBA official cocktails, the Alexander acts as a nice palette cleanser or after-dinner dessert. The original recipe back in 1915 subbed cognac for gin; the cognac variation has a number of conflicting origin stories, but the most likely source was Troy Alexander -- who created his eponymous concoction in order to serve a white drink at a dinner celebrating Phoebe Snow at Rector’s, a premier pre-Prohibition lobster shop in New York.
