This twist on a not-so-classic classic comes from the inimitable Jeffrey Morganthaler, who's made a name for himself by recreating oft-reviled drinks like the Amaretto Sour and making them suitable to today's cocktail ecosystem.
The original Blue Hawaii was a menacing mixture of canned pineapple juice and sweet and sour mix, but this updated one is a surprisingly balanced summer cocktail that still retains its most distinctive element: Blue Curaçao.
