Maple syrup and Fernet make for a one-two punch.

Gin 2.25cl 0.75oz
Fernet-Branca 2.25cl 0.75oz
Orange juice 2.25cl 0.75oz
Maple syrup 2.25cl 0.75oz
Lemon juice 1.0cl 0.33oz

  1. Shake with ice.
  2. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass.


A relatively modern cocktail, first published in Gaz Regan's Bartender's Gin Compendium.

It's a bright, lightweight cocktail that starts off sweet (you get hit with the orange and maple very quickly) before fading to a bitter aftertaste with the Fernet and a little bite of gin. The citrus aspect makes it a nice wine pairing, with the balance of acidities preventing it from overwhelming your palate.
